Information for Interested Parents

This is a brief description of our family daycare program. It also outlines our philosophy, goals and qualifications. We hope it provides the necessary facts to assist you in making the right decision for the proper daycare placement of your child.

Philosophy: We believe that a child learns by doing things: that by jumping, singing, dancing, painting, climbing, sharing and playing with others, children develop a healthy personality. Each child is a very special individual and has many things that they can share and discover by interacting with other children.

Goal: A child's early years are the most important for their physical, emotional and mental development. Our primary goal is to provide such a caring and stimulating environment that will allow your child's natural curiosity to develop and thus will aid in the early learning education process and social development.

Qualifications: I graduated from Aquinas Junior College, Newton, MA in 1981 with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have owned and operated my own Family Daycare since 1992. In 2012, Sarah joined our Daycare as Licensed Approved Assistant. We are all trained and certified in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid, which is renewed annually.

Program: We offer childcare between the hours of 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Instead of detailed lesson plans, we prefer to interact with the children and provide activities that will be interesting and challenging for each of them. The materials the children use are intended to help them learn through hands-on experiences so they can test their own ideas and develop their skills. We have many books, puzzles, blocks, games, stacking toys, etc.

Discipline: We work to help each child to become self-disciplined by seeing how his/her behavior affects others. We set consistent limits based on standard rules according to age. We encourage children to be cooperative, to take turns with one another and to use their words to solve a problem.

Food and Nutrition: We are an Allergy Friendly daycare that has specialized in Gluten Free, Tree Nut, Peanut, Dairy, Soy, and Egg allergies.

That being said, we provide all the food for the children to ensure there is NO contamination to the allergies that we have in our daycare.

** Parents of Infants will need to supply the Infant formula/breast milk for your child.

Breakfast, Lunch and two snacks are provided for each child.

A sample menu would be:

Breakfast: Milk, Gluten Free bread or cereal, Fruit

Lunch: Milk, Gluten Free Bread/Alternative, Meat/Alternative, Veggies, Fruit

Snack: Milk/Juice, Fruit or Gluten Free Snack (Mum Mum, Crackers, Puffs)

We hope this will help you in the very difficult task of selecting childcare. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me, Marie Tsacogianis @ 617-926-7377.
